The images in these folders show the actual mica preparations in the Ehrenberg Collection. Each image normally represents one-half of an opened folder (and labeled A and B). Occasionally there are extra sheets or other items stored with the folder and these have been labeled with additional extensions as appropriate. Images were taken at 5 mpixel resolution and are stored in high-quality jpeg format. This is adequate to read the labels in the folders - to the extent that EhrenbergÕs handwriting is legible that is. In many instances the mica discs somewhat overlap the top of the label text. Removing the mica strips to make this text legible would have exposed the strips to too high a risk of damage and would have been extremely time consuming, and thus was not done. This work was carried out by Arpad Thoma, a Berlin high-school student, January 2006.
